I favor the grey solitude of P-Town in winter. Nantucket, anywhere on it. Connecticut seaside towns are pretty in the winter, when they're gray and windswept. Lots of stone, seaside places with hearths and hot drinks.

If you're a moody fuck winter person, like I am, they's towns in Winter are the equivalent of tropical resorts for annoying Summer people.

I'd agree with R2 but when the tourists leave, P-Town is now nothing but gentrified, small town with a bunch of insufferable "artistes" who think their shit don't smell. The scenery is beautiful but the locals are assholes. Totally agree with you

I am a young African-American, lesbian gradaute pupil in my tardy twenties and I love the coast. I live in a small rural northeastern town that I only moved to for graduate school. I will be graduating soon and looking for somewhere for myself and my loved one to settle. I will be productive in education so I am not concerned with occupation placement, however I would like in be in at least an hour vicinity of a major city. I have a liking for either the east coast or northern California coast. My greatest taste would be the east coast because the cost of living is so much cheaper. Maybe the southeast or southwest? I am hearing so many different things from different people and I want to pinpoint somewhere affordable to live. I am willing to take a not many days to see a few places once I hold it narrowed down to like 5, but my bidget won't let me go beyond that. Please help with this, anyone who has had any experiences in coastal areas like this? thanks!
