Little Beach, Maui is yet another beach with many names. Whether you want to name it Little Beach, Little Makena Beach or Onouli Beach is completely up to you!
It's a great place to dangle out in the warm Maui sun, but only if you're free spirited enough to approve the fact that it's widely considered to be a clothing optional beach.
This beach got its name because it's, adequately, little especially when compared to its neighbour, Big Beach. But its size does NOT intend you should write it off. After all, it's said that good things come in miniature packages, and that's definitely right of this place!
It backs onto one of the largest cinder cones on Maui: Pu'u Ola'i. To get here, you must head to the north end of Big Beach, and climb along the footpath over the rocky remains of a lava flow from Pu'u Ola'i.

In Hawaii full public nudity is technically illegal, however there are several beaches where that technicality is overlooked by patrons of the beaches and enforcement.
There have been enforcement efforts in the past, and it has been ruled that exposing breasts is not considered nudity. However, there is a significant portion of the local population who are offended by nudity, including bare breasts, so if you plan on popping the top it would be best to perform it where it is expected.

Little Beach (Pu'u Ola'i)
Little Beach is so called, not only because it is fairly small, but because it is next door to the longest beach on Maui&#;s south coast - Big Beach. Both are beautiful stretches of golden sand backed by the near-pristine tropical greenery of Makena State Park, it&#;s just the scale is different&#; well mostly that.
Perhaps what Little Beach is most famous for is the fact it is Maui&#;s best-known clothes optional beach. But, I hear you say, general nudity is still illegal in Hawaii. This is true, but no one can remember the last time the rules were enforced here. And if you aren&#;t of the naturist persuasion then it&#;s fine to keep your swimsuit on. The beach is also often described as being gay-friendly.
As good as being a nudist beach, Little Beach has another quirk - the Sunday evening drum and fire circle. Basically this involves a bunch of people playing the drums while others dance in a circle performing various feats of fire juggling, fire breathing or anything else you can perform with flames.
