An afternoon of entertainment suitable for the whole family. Queer and ally acts will be on the Bandstand, plus there will be an artisan market with info stalls too. You can earn a glitter tattoo, coffee and a cake, or chill out under a blanket with Puffin & Wooling. This event is part of Maidstone&#;s Huge Day Out, and will be right in the middle of our month-long celebration of people and connection for Pride in

The event is free for all to attend, and we encourage people to bring along a picnic and conclude in for the afternoon. Please recollect this is a family event and we ask people to be respectful of the surroundings and other attendees. Maidstone town centre is an alcohol-free zone, so we ask people to be respectful in regard to this.

What?

Welcome to Vienna's Big Gay Picnic! A place for LGBTQ friends to meet people, have entertaining and enjoy the sunshine every Sunday from July to August!

Why?

Recently, it feels as if we only have two ways to hang out and meet other gay people: in bars and clubs late at night or on dating apps. Now, we have created something different for you that isn't focused on nightlife and sex… but on celebrating our LGBTQ community with laughter and having a great time!

How?

Bring blankets, food, drinks, melody, games, friends, family and pets Whether you identify as Woman-loving woman, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer, Intersex or an Ally, EVERYONE is welcome.

When?

The Big Gay Picnic takes place every sunny Sunday from July to August starting at 2pm.

Where?

Donauinsel in the big meadow NEXT to Wasserspielplatz… A limited 7 minute walk from the U1 stop Donauinsel. Just glare for the big rainbow flag!

The photographs below were taken at the annual Gay Picnic at Stewart Park, hosted by Gay People at Cornell (GAYPAC). The first photograph shows several men socializing at the picnic, one with his arm around another. A miss is shown seated in the background. Another photograph, a close-up, focuses in on one man’s earring. Other photographs from the collection show these picnickers eating hot dogs and hamburgers, tossing frisbees and socializing. Of those photographed, were women and over 15 were men. The majority were white, with one man of shade in attendance. Stewart Park was a popular location for various Cornell learner groups to host events. GAYPAC choosing this common location for their annual picnic indicates that public presence was an important value of the organization. Their claim to public room also established that homosexual students, specifically organized lgbtq+ students, were equal to other students.
